Chair of Tenure Committee for Dr. Barry Saville in the Forensic Science Program. Dr. Saville was successfully granted tenure.

Chair of the Biology Department Restructuring Committee to review and revise the committee and reporting structure to the Chair of the Department.
2005 – 2008
Founding Chair, Forensic Science Program, a joint applied degree program between Trent University and Fleming College, and an Ontario approved professional degree, specifically a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science (BScF.S).
Primary Achievements as Chair:

Negotiated all space, start-up and operating funds and staffing resulting in the hiring of an Academic/Administrative Secretary, a part-time Placement Officer, a joint Biology/Forensic faculty position, a full-time Forensic faculty position, and the successful negotiation of a joint Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources/Trent Research Chair in Wildlife Genetics & Forensics.

Established and maintained an Advisory Committee consisting of academics from Trent University and Fleming college, forensic practitioners from government (e.g. the RCMP National DNA Database and Forensic Services, the Centre of Forensic Sciences), the private sector (e.g. Maxxam Analytics) and law enforcement agencies (e.g. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)). The Advisory Committee reviews program curriculum and facilitates the placement program.
