Professor of Biology in Conservation Genomics & DNA Technology
former Canada Research Chair in DNA Profiling, Forensics & Functional Genomics
My research program focuses on applied molecular genetics and genomics in forensic science and conservation genetics under the Trent University Strategic Research Area in DNA Profiling, Forensics and Functional Genomics.
These research activities are integrated for applied objectives and basic research questions relating to non-human DNA profiling, natural resource management and conservation: areas of study increasingly being defined under a broader definition of forensic science.
The establishment of DNA markers, databases and analyses for non-human species forms the core of my research program and services the evidentiary needs of forensic cases and provides data to address biological, conservation and management questions.
